Railways: The Kavach mandate covers about 84,300 route-km. Of roughly 24,000 route-km awarded by FY26, about 2,569 route-km are commissioned, and around 41,000 route-km of new EPC tenders are expected over FY27-29. Defence: India’s defence production reached a record ₹1.78 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, and exports rose to ₹38,424 crore, against a Government target of ₹3 lakh crore annual production by 2029. Indian Railways also commissions about five new locomotives a day, and all newly manufactured rolling stock must be fitted with Kavach modules.
